01 MUSIC · ONE LIVE STATION · DRAWN FROM THE CHAIN
Treechat Music is one radio station, and everyone tuned in hears the same song at the same moment. Nobody picks the songs by hand. They come from the playlists people save and the sats people send, and a draw seeded by the latest BSV block picks each play.
02 · GETTING ON AIR
Any public audio or video post on Treechat can air, up to eight minutes long. It enters the draw once it has both kinds of support.
STEP 1 · POST
Upload audio, or video with sound, the way you post anything else. Anything longer than eight minutes stays off the station.
STEP 2 · PLAYLIST
Each person who adds the song to their playlist counts once. Saving your own song does not count.
STEP 3 · UPVALUE
An upvalue is a paid upvote in BSV that goes to the poster. Its sats set how strongly the song pulls in the draw.
03 · THE DRAW
85% of plays go to support: a song's weight is its playlisters times the square root of its sats, and sats sent while the song is on air count five times. The other 15% go to discovery, shared evenly by the songs with the fewest heard plays this week. Move the sliders to see the odds the station would give these four songs.
The draw takes a random number from the block hash and lands on a song in proportion to its odds.
Sats count as a square root, so four times the sats doubles a song's pull, while twice the playlisters doubles it too. Every song in the pool keeps a chance.
04 · ROTATION
After a song airs it sits out for about an hour of music, and its poster sits out the next three draws, however many songs they have in the pool. When the pool is small the station shortens those rests instead of going quiet.
EVERY PLAY HAS A RECEIPT
The random number for each draw comes from SHA-256 of the latest mined BSV block hash, the play number and the previous play. If the chain stalls for half an hour, the draw falls back to the clock and the play says so. The station records the block, the seed, the song's weight and the total for every play, so anyone can check that the song that aired is the one the numbers picked.

05 · LISTENING TOGETHER
MUSIC CHAT
Listeners talk in the station's chat while songs change. Each play posts its own card into the chat, so it reads like a set list with the talk in between.
AIRPLAY
When a song airs to listeners, its own thread gets a note with the running count of plays and a link to the room where it played.
ARTISTS
Everyone whose songs have aired is listed by newest to the station, most upvalued, and most upvalued on air lately.
06 · FAQ
Post it publicly as audio or video, eight minutes or shorter. It enters the draw once someone else saves it to their playlist and it has at least one upvalue. Saving your own song does not count.
Every upvalue on a song pays the person who posted it, the same as an upvalue on any post. Upvalues sent while the song is on air also count five times in its odds.
No. Sats enter the odds as a square root, 15% of plays go to the least heard songs of the week, a song rests for about an hour after it airs, and its poster sits out the next three draws.
No. Anyone can open app.treechat.com/radio and listen. You need an account to save songs, upvalue them and chat.
It keeps drawing, so it is always live when you tune in. Plays nobody heard still rest the song, but they don't count against it for discovery, and they don't get a card in the chat.
Yes. A moderator can mark a post as not music, and it leaves the pool. If it is already on air, it finishes its slot.
