You can delete your Treechat account at any time, on the web or in the Treechat app. You sign in first, so we know the account is yours.

How to delete your account

1. Sign in at app.treechat.com or in the Treechat app.
2. Open Settings and scroll to Delete Account at the bottom. The button above takes you straight there.
3. Select Delete Account. If Treechat holds your wallet, download your wallet keys when asked. Then confirm.

You are signed out as soon as you confirm. Deletion can't be undone.

Your wallet keys

If Treechat holds the keys to your wallet, you download them before your account is deleted, and we erase our copy with the rest of your account. Keep that file safe: it is how you reach any bitcoin in your wallet once your account is gone.

Removed right away

• Your profile: name, bio, picture and banner.
• Your posts, replies and messages, including from feeds and search, shortly after you confirm.
• Threads you started, unless other people replied. Their replies stay up; your posts are removed.

Erased after 30 days

Thirty days after you delete your account, we erase its data: your email address, password and sign-in details, your profile, what you wrote in your posts and messages, the files you uploaded, your wallet keys, connected accounts, settings, notifications and browsing history. A blank placeholder keeps each post's place in its thread, so replies to it still make sense.

What we keep

Records of payments, of AI generations (prompts and results, which other people's remixes build on) and of activity that dates other people's threads. They stay linked to an anonymous account that shows as "Deleted user".

Anything written to the Bitcoin SV blockchain, such as posts published on-chain, upvalue payments and ordinals, is public and permanent. Treechat cannot remove it.
